DK Quiz App

The DK quiz app is a great way to introduce students to new topics. There is a huge range of topics and  could be a fun way to get kids interested in learning. It is also timed so students are challenged to think quick. I think this would really draw students in because they have to be focused to even be able to follow the quiz.
Each topic has over 20 questions so you are not constantly starting over but instead utilizing your time in the class well. One great thing I found about the app is that after you have finished the quiz it gives you the option to retry so students can remember the answers they went through rather than just guessing. The thing that wasn't great about the app is that it only shows you briefly what the right answer is and there is no way to go back and look at them so it would be hard as a teacher to teach your students the right answer. Hopefully after we redid it enough times the students would be familiar with the questions and answers.
Other Negatives:
Once you click on the quiz it starts timing and there is no way to go back and pick a different quiz until you finish the one opened. I tried exiting out of the app completely but when I opened it again it was still on the same quiz. This would be a pain if you were prepared when you clicked on it or if you decided your students would prefer a different quiz.
Other Positives:
The app allows you to connect with other people to compete on the quizzes. If you had an internet connection you could compete with others online. I think it would also be a fun way to compete with other classes. This would be fun to connect kids from different classes either in the school or even across the country. It would give students an incentive to learn the information.
If the app can get the few little kinks worked out, I would definitely use it in my class. I think students would really look forward to it and it would be a fun way to learn new facts.
